Gov. Schwarzenegger visits Olympians at SJSU

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger visited SJSU for roughly 20 minutes Friday to socialize with Beijing-bound U.S. athletes at the official Olympic processing center, held in the Student Union.

Schwarzenegger shook hands and quickly took photos with some of the Olympians before he addressed a crowd that included the visiting athletes, university officials, media members and event volunteers.

SJSU will admit more first-time freshmen this fall than it previously expected, despite the failure of 515 incoming freshmen to complete the enrollment process on the university's online student system, MySJSU, said Pat Lopes Harris, SJSU media relations specialist.

In May, 1057 high school seniors who were accepted to SJSU were notified that their applications were being withdrawn because they had not signed up for student orientation. About half of those students had planned on attending SJSU, while the other half consisted of students who chose to attend other universities, Lopes Harris said.

It transcends a genre, it's filled with plenty of thrilling action scenes, it includes one absolutely chilling performance by the late Heath Ledger, and it's undoubtedly entertaining, but "The Dark Knight" isn't the flawless instant classic that you may have heard it is.

If aliens could watch either "Jeopardy!" or "Family Feud," which one would you want them to see?

Life works in interesting ways sometimes: You get rewarded when you don't deserve it, you catch a break from someone else's screw-up, you get second chances without making the first one count, and your family members are eager to get you out of a jam.

Wait, that's not how life works at all. I'm thinking of the television game show "Family Feud."

Life works more like "Jeopardy!"
