Larry Young, SJSU's animal care facility operations manager, said that there is a wide range of use that the animals have and noted that their use is not limited strictly to science classes. A mother of twins said she was told that she wasn't allowed to nurse her children on SJSU's campus by Colleen Brown, the financial aid and scholarship director. Chief of hospital in Jerusalem discusses casualties of terror

Dr. Todd Zalut, the chief of the ER department of the second largest hospital in Jerusalem gave students an inside perspective on fighting terrorism in Israel on Wednesday at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library. Zalut, an Arizona native, answered questions from students on speakerphone from his office in Israel about the difficulties of responding to mass causalities and new preparations for biochemical attacks at Shaare Tzedek Hospital. Nancy Holtz, a junior art major, started smoking three years ago after studying abroad in Mexico for a month. "My family, after dinner, would make coffee and we would smoke," Holtz said about the family she stayed with in Mexico. "And it was really a comfortable thing because everybody else smoked and it was in a foreign country and everybody else did it. (0) comments

The SJSU Alumni Association, partnered with a national company, will sponsor its second European Odyssey trip for graduating seniors in June 2008. In 19 days, students will visit seven European countries, including France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Austria and Italy for $2,849, plus airfare and tax. (0) comments
